Tour of University of Pittsburgh Nationality Rooms
Wednesday, 23 June, 12:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Includes transportation, admission, guided tours and lunch. Upon departing the Hilton, the tour will proceed to Pittsburgh’s “Strip District” for lunch at Lidia’s Restaurant, followed by a tour of several ethnic churches (including St. Anthony’s Chapel which houses 5,000 relics of saints) and the University of Pittsburgh’s Nationality Rooms. Of museum quality, the Nationality Rooms will take you around the world in 90 minutes. These functioning classrooms adapt Classical, Byzantine, Romanesque, Baroque, Renaissance, Tudor and other styles to recreate cultural periods prior to 1787, the founding date of the University.
Dinner Theatre Package
Wednesday, 23 June, 6:00 pm – 10:00 pm
Includes transportation, dinner and theater ticket. This event features two outstanding examples of the best of downtown Pittsburgh. Start with a pre-show dinner at Bravo Franco Restaurant in the heart of the city’s Cultural District. Then move to the adjacent O’Reilly Theatre for a performance of Mary Stuart starring Lisa Harrow and Deirdre Madigan as Queen Elizabeth I and Mary Queen of Scots as they stake their claim to the throne in this epic production of Freidrich Schiller's masterpiece. The extravagant world of 16th-century England is vividly portrayed in this no-holds-barred clash of political titans.
