Help us to know the Father's love
through Jesus the Shepherd
and through His Spirit.
Help us to lift up that love,
and show it all over this land.
Help us to build love on justice
and justice on love.
Help us to believe mightily,
hope joyfully,
love divinely.
Renew us that we may renew
the face of the earth.
Amen.
52. ACT OF CONSECRATI0N TO THE IMMACULATE HEART OF MARY
Queen of the most Holy Rosary,
and tender mother of the people,
to fulfill the desires of the Most Sacred Heart, and the request of the Vicar of your Son on earth, we consecrate ourselves to you, and to your Immaculate Heart, and recommend to you, all the families of our nation, and of all the world.
Please accept our consecration, dearest Mother, and use us and all families as you wish, to accomplish your designs upon the world.
O Immaculate Heart of Mary, Queen of Heaven and earth, and of our family, rule over us, together with the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ, our King. Save us from the spreading flood of modern paganism, kindle in our hearts and homes, the love of purity, the practice of Christian life, and an ardent zeal for souls, and for the holiness of family life.
We come with confidence to you, O Throne of Grace and Mother of Fair Love; inflame us with the same divine fire which has inflamed your own Immaculate Heart.
Make our hearts and homes your shrine, and through us make the Heart of Jesus rule and triumph in every family in the world. Amen.
53. PRAYER FOR HOLY WEEK
Jesus my Lord, let me strengthen my courage by taking on the courage of all those people who have been "centurions" for me. Many have faced disasters and hard times with great constancy. The upper hand of evil never turned them against you. They kept going.
Let me be like them, Lord. No matter what the cross, let me never stop declaring you to be "truly the Son of God, the source of my hope, the reason why i'll never quit on life." Amen.
54. GOOD FRIDAY PRAYER
Jesus, my Lord, let me go to Mary when suffering threatens to overwhelm me. Ask your mother to stay with me when I am afraid and tempted to surrender. Let me look to Mary as my model for love, as well as my haven of healing. Make sure I am considerate of other people and notice how they are affected by their suffering. I'm not the only one.
I beg you, Lord,to help me grow in compassion. If I am faaithful to you and close to your blessed mother, those who suffer will be comforted by my presence...and they will gain courage as I stand beside them, by their cross. Amen.
55. EASTER PRAYER
Jesus, Lord, don't let the fear of death overpower us. And don't let the loss of our loved ones cause us to doubt your power to "Easter" everybody. Remind us, Lord, that you have the last words over death. You are risen! You are not "among the dead." Neither are we. We shall live forever in your triumphant love. Amen.
56. PRAYER TO ST. MONICA, PATRONESS OF MOTHERS
Blessed Monica, mother of St. Augustine, we give thanks to our Father in Heaven Who looked with mercy upon your tears over your wayward son. His conversion and heroic sanctification were the fruit of your prayers. Dear St. Monica we now ask you to pray with us for all those sons and daughters that have wandered away from God, and to add your prayers to those of all mothers who are worried over their children. Pray also for us that, following your example, we may, in the comany of our children, one day enjoy the eternal vision of our Father in Heaven. Amen.
57. PRAYER TO THE BLESSED VIRGIN MARY
O most Blessed Virgin Mary, mother of gentleness and mercy, I, an unworthy sinner, fly to you with sentiments of confidence and love. I beg you who stood close to your most beloved Son as He hung upon the cross, graciously to remain near me, a miserable sinner, and near all priests who throughout the whole Church will offer Holy Mass this day. By your gracious favor help me to offer a sacrifice which is worthy and acceptable in sight of the most high and undivided Trinity, Amen.
58. AT THE HOUR OF DEATH
O Lord Jesus Christ, grant that now and in the hour of our death we may obtain the favor of Your mercy through the pleading of the Blessed Virgin Mary,Your Mother whose soul was pierced with a sword of sorrow in the hour of Your passion. Who lives and reigns for ever and ever. Amen.
59. REND YOUR HEARTS
Rend your hearts, not your garments, and return to the Lord, your God. For gracious and merciful, is he, slow to anger, rich in kindness, and relenting in punishment.
60. PRAYER TO MARY
Mary, Mother of mercy, watch over all people, that the Cross of Christ may not be emptied of its power, that man may not stray from the path of good or become blind to sin, but may put his hope ever more fully in God Who is "rich in mercy." May he carry out the good works prepared by God beforehand and so live completely "for the praise of His glory." Amen.
