31. ADORATION

Glory be to the Father, and to the Son, and to the Holy Spirit: As it was in the beginning is now, and ever shall be, world without end. Amen.

32. THE ANGELUS
V. The Angel of the Lord declared unto Mary,
R. And she conceived of the Holy Spirit. Hail Mary, etc.
V. Behold the handmaid of the Lord.
R. Be it done to me according to Your Word. Hail Mary, etc.
V. And the Word was made flesh,
R. And dwelt among us. Hail Mary, etc.

Let us Pray:

Pour forth, we beseech You, O Lord, Your Grace into our hearts; that as we have known the incarnation of Christ Your Son by the message of an angel, so by His passion and cross we may be brought to the glory of His resurrection. Through the same Christ, our Lord. Amen.

33. PRAYER IN TIME OF SICKNESS
O Jesus, suffered and died for us;
You understand suffering;
Teach me to stand suffering as You do;
To bear it in union with You;
To offer it with You to atone for my sins,
And to bring Your grace to souls in need.
Calm fears; increase my trust.
May I gladly accept Your holy will and become more like You in trial.
If it be Your will, restore me to health so that I may work for Your honor and glory and the salvation of all peoples. Amen.
Mary, help of the sick, pray for me.

34. PRAYER FOR THE CRITICALLY ILL
O Lord our God, You are the healer of all mankind. In Your merciful love you heal us of sin and the effects of sin in this life and the next.
We pray to you, our Lord, this day to accelerate your plan of final healing and glory for our loved one. Call your beloved home to the fullness of happiness and glory with You for all eternity. Amen.

35. PRAYER IN TIME OF SUFFERING
Behold me, my beloved Jesus, weighed down under the burden of my trials and sufferings, I cast myself at Your feet, that You may renew my strength and my courage, while I rest here in Your presence. Permit me to lay down my cross in Your Sacred Heart, for only Your infinite goodness can sustain me; only Your love can help me bear my cross; only Your powerful hand can lighten its weight.
O Divine King, Jesus, whse heart s so compassionate to the afflicted, I wish to live in You, during my life be to me my model and support; At the hour of my death, be my hope and my refuge.

36. PRAYER TO MY GUARDIAN ANGEL
Angel of God's light, whom God sends as a companion for me on earth, protect me from the snares of the devil, and help me to walk always as a child of God, my Creator.
Angel of God's truth, whose perfect knowledge serves what is true, protect me from deceits and temptations. Help me to know the truth, and always to live the truth.
Angel of God's love, who praises Jesus Christ, the only Son of God, who sacrificed His life for love of us, sustain me as I learn the ways of divine love, of sacrificial generosity, of meekness and lowliness of heart.
Thank You, my heavenly friend, for your watchfull care. At the moment of my death, bring me to heaven, where the one true God, Who is light, Truth and Loe, lives and reigns forever and ever. Amen.

37. PRAYER FOR THE DYING
Most Merciful Jesus, lover of souls, I pray to You, by the agony of Your most Sacred Heart, and by the sorrows of Your Immaculate Mother, to wash in our Most Precious Blood, the sinners of the world who are now in their agony, and who will die today. Heart of Jesus, once in agony, have mercy on the dying. Amen.

38. PRAYER FOR THE SOULS IN PURGATORY
O gentle Heart of Jesus, ever present in the Blessed Sacrament, ever consumed with burning love for the poor captive souls in Purgatory, have mercy on them.
Be not severe in Your judgments, but let some drops of Your Precious Blood fall upon the devouring flames.
And, Merciful Savior, send Your angels to conduct them to a place of refreshment, light and peace. Amen.

39. ACT OF CONTRITION
A. O my God, I am heartily sorry for having offended You. I detest all my sins because I dread the loss of heaven and the pains of hell.
But most of all because they offended You, my God, Who are all good and deserving of all my love.
I firmly resolve, with the help of Your grace to sin no more and to avoid the near occasions of sin. Amen.

B. My God, I am sorry for my sins with
all my heart. In choosing to do wrong and
failing to do good, I have sinned against you
whom I should love above all things.
I firmly intend, with your help,
to do penance, to sin no more, and
to avoid whatever leads me to sin.
Our Savior Jesus Christ
suffered and died for my sins,
In his name, my God, have mercy.

40. PRAYER FOR FORGIVENESS
O God, mercy and forgiveness are Yours by nature and by right. Receive our humble petitions. Though we are bound tightly by the chain of our sins, set us free by the power of Your great mercy. Amen.
